The game is usually played between two teams, and players use buzzers to answer questions as quickly as possible.
Here’s how quiz bowl typically works:
- Teams: Made up of 4 players each.
- Questions: Asked by a moderator, covering various academic subjects.
- Buzzers: Players buzz in to answer questions. The first to buzz gets to respond.
- Scoring: Points are awarded for correct answers, and sometimes points are deducted for incorrect ones.
- Format: Matches can be played in rounds, with toss-up questions (open to both teams) and bonus questions (for the team that answers the toss-up correctly).
