About Our School

Berwick High School is a public high school serving grades 9–12 in the St. Mary Parish Public School System.

Located in Berwick, Louisiana, BHS is committed to empowering all students to succeed through rigorous academics, character development, and meaningful extracurricular opportunities.

Home of the Panthers, our Black and Gold tradition reflects a proud history of excellence in academics, athletics, leadership, and community involvement that has served generations of students.

 History

Berwick High School has proudly served the Berwick community for generations.

• The first Berwick High School yearbook was published during the 1956–1957 school year.

• Since its founding, the school has been housed in three locations:

  1. The current Berwick Elementary School

  2. The current Berwick Junior High School

  3. The present Berwick High School campus, which opened in 1975.

Berwick High School is committed to preparing students for college, careers, military service, and lifelong success through rigorous academics, career and technical education, dual enrollment opportunities, fine arts, and extracurricular involvement.

Berwick High School has a proud athletic tradition, including:

• 1978 Class 2A Baseball State Champions

• 2018 Class 3A Baseball State Champions

• 2023 LHSAA Division III Non-Select Baseball State Champions

• Multiple state championships and appearances in softball, tennis, and marching band competitions.

Fine Arts

Berwick High School's award-winning Sound of Pride Band has earned numerous state honors and marching band championships while maintaining a tradition of musical excellence. Students also participate in visual arts, and theater.
